The second convex lens in the viewfinder assembly seems prone to a blue haze. This occurs regularly. What is it. Ive tried IPA toothpaste and peroxide. Its better than it was. And even cerium oxide.

I am currently cleaning a Super 23 I got for a bargain price. The viewfinder is very hazy and dirty. Which mirror should not be cleaned ? I found a site which describes how to clean the veiwfinder assembly . It tells how to do everything , but it states nowhere of which mirror has the rangefinder spot . Yes, I am a novice at this. I have read where a novice such as I has wiped off the rangefinder spot by cleaning, and I wish to avoid that mistake. After learning on this Super 23 I will try to clean my good 23.

I would say do more research you don't want to hurt either mirror. One thing nice about this rangefinder is that everything is big so you can adjust and clean easily. I didn't clean my mirror because I was worried like you are. The spot on mine is a little light but so big I can live with it.

Thanks for the reply. You are absolutely correct . I've decided to just clean the viewfinder and call it good, . I'm not touching any of the mirrors because as you say- everything is so big.
