I just got my 65mm Mamiya Universal back from Pro Camera in Cleveland.
It is FAR smoother than when I bought it- and the shutter is FAR better with time. The technician is excellent, and I can recommend him for lots of other work, if anyone is curious.
Now, to go take some photos.

If you don't mind my asking, what was the cost for what sounds like a CLA as well as a repair? I also have a 65mm with a defective shutter.

I paid a whopping $160 for it.
I had to choose between another used one, or to keep the gem working. I chose the latter, knowing that it's really "the only way" with a system as old as it is.
Besides, it really does take nice pictures.

Thanks. I understand. That is my problem. I know the kind of photos mine will take. Even when I see 65mm lenses on ebay I and worried about how they will perform, and how soon they might require a CLA.

I figure in the price of a CLA whenever I buy ANYTHING photographic that's used.
It's like trying to buy a used motorcycle with a good chain (if they have chains) or good tires. hasn't happened yet.
