Where?
After 10 years away, I've finally made it back. I'm currently in Marikina - anybody know of any good camera stores in and/or around Manila? Not really looking for anything in particular, but would like to visit a good store just to look around...
Thanks!

I agree. I'm going there tomorrow to get a camera fixed. I hope to find good deals on some lenses. I get lucky sometimes there

Thanks guys! Will try and make it out there one of these days... I used to go there @ quiapo church when I was a little kid.
Btw, any particular place that sells new/used M-mount lenses and rangefinders?
Lastly, what area(s) would you guys recommend to just drive to, park a car & head out with a camera in hand? Favourite spots?

Try going online, there are many sellers like Pinoy Photography.com (PiPho). Where to shoot? Many places depending on what you like to shoot. If you're into street photography just go to Quiapo, Ongpin and Rizal Avenue. Just make sure you have a companion with you. Park your car In SM Manila at the back of Manila City Hall then just walk thru the streets. I would get a Kalesa (local horse carriage) then go around Divisoria and China Town.
For the benefit of others, here's how a Kalesa looks like

m-mount? usually it'd be online or maybe chance upon someone from rfil selling one of theirs (this would be rare).
or you could ask gilpen to sell you one of his

i usually park in one of the carparks off ongpin then just walk and shoot and eat my way down to avenida then on to hidalgo proper.

I usually head to SM mall of Asia and shoot by the bay up until the sun sets. I also like to prowl Ortigas Center and Shaw Blvd cornering Crossing all day and park in metrowalk (free parking!) and just walk around towards megamall (or park in megamall).
Cubao (Araneta Center) is also a favorite of mine. Lots of parking
As for the Camera stores, Hidalgo is a hit or miss place. It's rare to see a good rangefinder there and if ever there is one, most likely it is overpriced
so the best bet is the internet or some locals actually hunt Ukay Ukay and get rare finds.
Enjoy
