Math Technical (the Thumbs-Up folks) has a series of 3 Viewfinder Magnifiers: 0.85X, 1.25X and 1.45X. They offer these fixed as well as with a diopter adjustment of range of +/- 3 diopters. Seems like a good idea! My 90 and 135 lenses might work better with these. Don't know about shorter, but sometimes those could benefit, too. Here's a link: http://www.matchtechnical.com/Pages/EyeCupMag.aspx

Any experience with these? Thanks!

Gee... 60 plus views and either nobody cares, nobody knows anything useful or this is a lone quest. Well.... I've ordered one. Emailed back-and-forth with "Tim" and have one on the way. The combo of a diopter adjustment PLUS magnification seemed worth giving it a try. At $200 or so, still cheaper than the Leica version with more capability. Heck, I spent $70 on the screw-in +1 diopter alone with no tangible improvement... so the price is not a reason to object. Weill keep folks posted.

No experience here, but seems like a useful addition for some. I have an M3 and due to glasses, don't need any more VF magnification or I'd lose the framelines so not as useful for me.

If you will buy it, make sure it is secured. I have one x1.25 from another manufacturer briefly. On very first hike it unscrewed itself and get lost.

I have the leica version 1.25. Bought used througj a member here. Absolutely love it anything 50 or longer is perfect on my m8. 35mm squeezes in. On a full frame I'm sure 35 and up would be fine.

I have kind of permanently attached a 1.25x on my MM which I use mostly with my 90'cron but I don't take the magnifier off when I use a 50 or even a 35. Although with the latter it gets difficult to see enough around the frame.
Wide open with critical focus the magnifier definitely helps to nail it.

I have the Match Technical x1.25 with the adjustable diopter. Works great with my 90mm and any fast 50mm. Not needed for wider lenses. Optical quality is not perfect, though, but the price is nice.
