Dear fellow RFF readers,

I'm looking to get a new, brighter, screen for my Rolleiflex 2.8E. I live in Finland, and whilst I could send my camera to Oceanside / Harry Fleenor, or Bill Maxwell himself, to get a new screen installed, it somehow feels silly to send a camera half way round the world for service if it could be done closer to home. Thus the question: does anyone in Europe fit Maxwell screens, or some other similarly bright focusing screen for Rolleiflexes?

I do a bit of tinkering on my own cameras and lenses, so I could probably fit the screen myself, however, I think the camera could do with a film transport CLA as well as focusing check, neither of which I'm prepared to tackle at this time. I guess I could have the service done at the same time as getting the new screen installed, which is why I'm really looking for repair shop and not scrounging through ebay for some other screen for a DIY job.

With many thanks,

Jani

You can get focusing screen for Mamiya RB67 (nicely bright) and cut it to the same size as the screen you have now.
My E2 has problem with transport and I have it repaired by Mr. Kuschnik last summer. Price was fine, turnover time quick, no problem with the transport so far.

Jürgen Kuschnik is great. He repaired my 3.5E and installed a Maxwell screen in 2010. Excellent work, and the new screen really made a huge difference.
