May Day photos from RFF people

May Day, Tuesday 1 May 2007, is a big occasion in many places. In other places it is likely under the radar.

Following on from our Equinox day how about some of us making photos on May Day this year?

Mine will likely be old guys with dignity and red flags who remember the 1974 revolution, in a ramshackle parade.

From other parts of the world we may see celebrations, or parades, or a regular Tuesday.

One (1) photo per member typical of May Day wherever you are.

Respond if you're in for this. And if we get some interest we'll ask Stephen to set up a 'May Day 2007' gallery for our photos.



(I know that in Britain 'May Day' falls on Monday 7 May 2007. Go figure. If you're there feel free to photograph on that date instead. Perhaps photos of the traditional queues outside IKEA?)
 
Sweet idea. I won't participate most likely. I don't even know if there's anything done on that day here in Holland. Now Mongolia... that would be another story. :)
 
As every year I'll be on a party april 30th, depending on the band I might bring a camera.
 
In some places it will be a May Day event, and in other places it will be a regular Tuesday and no more. Let's illustrate that contrast.
 
For me this is a good idea as its a Bank Holiday (Monday) and I wont have to work .....so count me in!

I'm in, it seems there is a Tibetan festival at a temple near my office on Mayday and some monks will be making a sand mandala so I will shoot some color that day.
 
Having a birthday in May- Cinco de Mayo actually- I tend to be rather aware of all things "May" and I am familiar with May Day; but no one where I live celebrates it (the SE of the USA, NC more particularly).

I will see if I can come up with something.

This international photography project is as much to do with who does not celebrate May Day as who does celebrate it.

I think I'll partecipate, hope I'll have some decent results this time. I'd like to take some photos like the ones Jon is going to take but I think it will be a little difficult to find some workers' parade.

This is the sort of thing I'm planning this year, but in conventional 3:2 format this time. This one was last year or the year before I think.

A bump for this. Any comrades who feel their spring efforts did not measure up, a chance for redemption on May Day.
 
I'll sign on. I should be at work that day, so it will be pictures around and maybe in the office.

(And my equinox roll is next in line for scanning).
