There are a couple unanswered requests posted recently in the Mercury II group at Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/groups/738480@N25/) about taking apart and cleaning the Tricor lens. It is probably not very difficult, but I'm reluctant to risk disassembling mine as it is working very well as is at the moment.

If anyone can help with the needed information about the Tricor, it will be greatly appreciated. It would also be great if a few more Mercury enthusiasts would join the Flickr group.

Thanks.

Mine was good to go too, Mike, so I left well enough alone like you did. Everything else though was a total redo.

It is a terrific camera. There must have been a lot produced and sold right after the war because I see them being sold on ebay nearly every day.

Neat camera, clever shutter. Oddball frame format, it's not half-frame, it's slightly larger. 11 exposures in the space of 6 full-frame ones.

Common -- but hard to find one that's not all corroded.
