There is a FW update available with at least two types of focus speed improvements!

I will try to update today, anyone else?

Finally got to this today.

The two big points of the update were faster AF and the addition of Speed Priority AF mode in the menu. These changes along with the preexisting Focus Limit should reduce user complaints about speed. The AF can now outpace the screen refresh. In addition, Auto ISO range is now settable as is the stepping sensitivity.

A welcome and recommended update!

I just noticed this firmware update tonight. Was this there before?

-Adds “FOV Classic Blue” to Color mode.
-Improves Auto White Balance (AWB).
-Enables the display of the focus frame even when the icons on LCD Monitor are set to hidden.
-Enables activation of AF + MF mode by pressing AE Lock button even when it is set to Center AF Lock.
-Improves visibility of grid line.
-Adds “Flash Exposure Compensation” to items which can be selected in the Quick Set menu.
-Corrects the phenomenon that ISO Auto is disabled automatically, when setting ISO sensitivity to ISO Auto and taking images, then turning off the camera while it is writing the image data.

Just downloaded and installed the 1.02 to my camera. Tried to access the PDF about the update but I am getting not found type error message. Looks like even though web page is up, not everything is available yet.

So, how's the update?

The classic blue mode does enhance the blueness of the sky, but I did not like what it does to other colors that are part of foreground. Haven't noticed any issues w/ the newest update.

But if hare referring to,the update that was suppose to help af, it was already on the camera I bought. af speed is about the same a Fuji x100 rel 1.0

It seems that the Fov Classic Blue setting is intended to replicate the colours produced by the SD9, particularly the very intense blue of skies.

Thanks for info... Was this also a special mode of sd9 or just natural behavior?

particularly the very intense blue of skies.

It makes everywhere look like Montana!

I will still shoot in base (STD) X3F as this setting also exists in the latest rev of SPP ... you can even go back and try it on X3F files that predate the update!
