The meter angle as stated in the instruction book for the Rollei 35SE/TE series is 28 degrees, roughly the same as an 85 mm lens. The meter angle of the Rollei 35 is 40 degrees (based on a 1967 Popular Photography test report), roughly the same as a 50 mm lens. This was confirmed by my comparison of similarly calibrated S and SE cameras in my possession. Some complain that the SE is less convenient to use because you can't see the shutter and aperture dials when taking a reading, but the tighter meter angle benefits more from viewing through the finder while taking a meter reading compared to simply tilting the camera while viewing the top meter display as in the standard Rollei 35 series. The tighter meter angle also boosts the effective meter sensitivity a little, although the sensitivity range is still the same EV 7-17 at ISO 100 as all other Rollei 35's.
