I have the RD1 with the firmware update. My meter seems to give an underexposure of one stop. Of course I can compensate, but has anyone else had this proble?

Epson appears to be overly concerned about avoiding blown highlights. Users of the RD1 are tend to be a more sophisticated lot and prefer to "expose to the right". If shooting in RAW (highly recommended), I generally shoot +2/3 exposure compensation. Rescueing highlights in RAW is preferrable to blocked up, noisy shadows.

Thanks for the info Rex. I've had experience with 2 other bodies (not mine). One seems to need the same correction (+3/4 - +1) and the other about +1/2.
