To infinity and beyond!
My new flea market find MG-1 had battery compartment corrosion and naturally the negative power lead was already broken.
The POD was already replaced, and shutter release adjusted. All that's left is the power lead. Is this accessed similar to the E35 series? I.e. remove the top plate, remove sheet metal shield from RF, then remove RF mechanics?
It appears to be the same basic procedure as the E35 cameras.
Also, has anyone had any luck sourcing replacement battery doors? Or is it just buy a parts camera and hope it's better than the one you have...
Thanx!

Well, I managed to get the power wire soldered back in place. Have power now. For those interested, yes the procedure is the same, dust cover, two screws and Bob's your uncle. Ex warning lights function as does the cds cell, aperture blades, iso indicator.
Now I need to get the shutter moving. Blades are clean and move a little bit when the shutter release is pressed. But it just goes click.
Will be comparing a good working shutter with this one for any issues.
Does anything stand out to anyone with alignment?

Shutter problem fixed. It was the rack and pinion gears in the top. They had jumped one tooth, likely from the advance lever being allowed to slap back.
Now just the lens wobble is all that remains to be fixed. This is going to be a very invading surgery I think.

Well done. I suppose that you now feel determined to get this camera working.

Yeah, well and my labor is free! If it doesn't work out then it's only $5 wasted for a spare parts camera. But, it would be nice to get it working!
These lenses are sharp and very nice, no reason to scrap this thing yet.
