Spotted this fellow today at "Floriade", the annual flower festival held here each spring.

I can see it's a 1:2.8, but what focal length?

Not compensating, huh? :D

Whenever people give me that compensating comment when I'm using my 70-200/2.8, I just tell them that I consider it a small lens.

You just gotta remember they probably go home to their ford f-350, polish their 416 rigby rifle, eat foot long subs and listen to their 12"s.

Anyone that feels the need to comment sarcastically on your gear probably has little compensation problems of their own. Which is pretty funny really.
 
It is a great lens (wish I could afford one) and no doubt gives a good working distance. Not so great a total magnification factor.

And as far as comments are concerned, I give this girl credit for either a great sense of humour or being someone to stay a long, long way away from:
