Minolta 700si grip cracking

Hey everyone, l recently bought a Minolta Dynax700si, and it's working flawlessly! The only problem is that darn grip, that has a couple of cracks. I normally wouldn't obsess over them, but they are kind of spreading to the point that i had two small bean shaped bits fall off. I reglued them with some CA, but l'd like to protect the grip as much as l can as l don't want to be afraid of bits falling off, and l sure don't want to constantly reglue them. I was thinking of applying matte black car vinyl wrap around the grip, and of course cut out the part where the contact points are on the front thinking that the wrap will hold it in one piece.
What do you think of my idea? Has anyone had a similar problem?
