I am not sure where to post, but can anyone identify the specifics of this return spring, or how to properly wind same and install?
On 2 7sii I have, the spring is weak on each. I'm looking to replace and have tried 6 different diameter 304 spring wires, but I cannot get it right. If you wrap around without pre setting, most springs are too strong and leave the aperture wide open. If you over adjust before installing, the spring wire will not fully (and/or quickly) open on a shutter press. Thus, it might stay at 5.6 or higher. I hope that makes sense.
Any help or reference is greatly appreciate.

It appears that the diaphragm is contaminated with old lubricants? I'm wondering if your camera really needs a CLA, in which case the original spring ought to be fine. An assembly like the diaphragm should be dry and have a very light action.I am not sure where to post, but can anyone identify the specifics of this return spring, or how to properly wind same and install?

Thank you for the response. I should have posted a new photo, that is when I first opened the front element. The blades were cleaned, what I could see (no full disassemble) with naphta and no longer contain that substance. However, what made be believe it was an issue with the spring is, apparently others have had the issue, and I have 2 7sii, and both have since been cleaned but still the blades do not open on full shutter press. Later on, I'll try to post a video.
So, a bit lost.
