Hello everyone,
I thought I'd give this a shot here.....
I have 2 black Minolta Hi Matic 7sii's that are both missing the front "ID" element (or whatever it's called - the part that says "Minolta Rokkor 1:1.7 f=40mm") and was wondering if anyone had the spare part (or two) that you are willing to sell me. I have no idea why they are missing as I purchased them that way. If you have a broken 7sii lying around and are willing to sell it, please let me know.
Also, I'm having a terrible time replacing the seals on these things. I ended up taking it to a local guy and he's not having any luck either, although it's getting better. Before I take it back to him does anyone have any shots on the inside of the 7sii and any advice/input on how to change the seals on this camera?
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you sell me one of them....or trade me for a perfect silver one plus cash (from me)?

Thanks for the reply Bill and it's tempting but I'm not willing to separate the twins at the moment.

With regard to the light seals you might try to look up a fellow named Jon Goodman (ebay ID: "interslice") and purchase one of his light seal replacement kits. They are cheap and they work; and one kit will repair many cameras. I have used Jon's kits to replace the seals on a Minolta Hi-Matic G and a Vivitar 35 ES, cameras that are very similar to your Hi-Matic 7sII.
In fact, I still have a set of Mr. Goodman's light seal replacement instructions for the Minolta Hi-Matic F that I would be happy to share with you. The F is similar enough to the 7sII that you may find the instructions useful. PM me and I can email them to you.

Thanks Cbas. I actually have Jon's seals. I tried it and failed...miserably. Used it in all my other cameras with no problem. I actually sold one of my 7sii's to Jon in the hopes that he can put up some instructions soon. I've read somewhere (can't recall where now) that the 7sii's are a bit difficult in the seals replacing department.

Anyone with any advice or photos on the seals on a 7sii? Anyone please?

Hi! Well, a few days ago I had new sealing on my Revue 400SE, which acording to what I've read, it's very similar to the Minolta 7sII... but have never compared them by myself.
Removing old sealing and installing new one has been quite easy, or at least easier than I expected.
Perhaps if you post some pic of the camera some of us could give you a guideline or advice...
