:) hello I have put a bat in, needle in viewfinder went to the top at once and has not moved. I have put the camera facing the sun for 1 hr ,no change Is it electrical or mechanical ?I have gone thru all settings n the ASA dial as someone recommended with no change, should I look for a camera with working meter and change to this one? Or forget about it and use the sunny 16 method?

If you have moved the ASA/on-off switch lever throught its range a few times, refitted the correct battery and cleaned the contacts and checked that there is nothing blocking the metering cell window on the lens mount there is nothing much more you can do without stripping the camera and I certainly would not recommend you do that. I'm afraid it sounds very much as if you have a dead meter but the 7s is a good solid camera with a fine lens, perfectly usable in manual mode. Enjoy it.
