Hi folks,

i hope this is the right place for my question, it's my first contact to the rangefinder forum. Collecting and using rangefinder camera's is my new hobby, and i also started to clean and repair some camera's. For the well known one's you can find a lot of informations in the www. But i also tried to justify the distance meter of my minolta himatic f. That confuses me a little bit because i am not able to dismount the top cover. I found two screws at the side and one screw under the rewind crank. The rewind crank and the advance lever could also be dismounted very easy.
At that point i could move the cover a little bit, but it seems to be hold by something near the release button. So i tried to remove it by gripping it with long-nosed pliers and turning it like a screw. Now it doesn't look as nice as before, but i could not remove it. I believe the button isn't fixed at the cover, i've seen something like that at other camera's. What also could fix the cover is the battery check button with it's plate around it. But i couldn't find out if it does so and how to dismount it.
I found some operating manuals for that model, but nothing about how to put it in pieces. Especially the top cover is my problem, and i am a little bit confused because i could not find anything which holds the cover.
So, if anyone can give me a hint i would be very pleased. I don't know why but i like that little Minolta.

Bye
Wolfgang

I have a lid in front of me, let's see.
Screws:
One under the rewind, one on the back between the batt check and eyepiece, one on the end by the counter window, and four that hold on the shoe.
Did you take off the shoe? The chrome thing around where the release button is stays put.

Hi,

do you mean the acessory shoe in the middle of the cover plate? At my Minolta there are no screws which hold the shoe, it looks like it is mounted on the cover plate. Do we talk about the same model, Hi-Matic F?

Bye
Wolfgang
