I'm using Minolta Multipro scanner with Vuescan pro. I like the combination, considering the price. Recently, though, I started to have a problem with my scans. I get only half of the transparency scanned, then there is a .25" green band and the other side is black. I wonder if anybody had that problem. I'm thinking it might to be an issue with hardware, with carrier transport, in which case I'd have to open the scanner and roll up the sleeves. Any ideas?

That exact combination has always worked perfectly for me. But:

Download the latest Vuescan version and try that. I know nothing will have changed vis-a-vis Vuescan for the Multipro but you will get clean software and reset all the defaults.

Can you run the Minolta software with your current operating system? That will sort out the problem between hardware and the software.

Is this with scanning a 6x7, 6x6, 6x4.5 or 35mm neg? Is it consistent between all formats? Remember you do not need different size MF negs, just change the film size in Vuescan.

I remember dialing in too high a custom resolution for 6x7 negs, it was a resolution that only worked with 6x4.5 negs and only scanned the 6x4.5 part of a 6x7 neg.

Thank you, Bob, for your suggestions. I have bought the Vuescan a couple months ago, so I think it's still the newest version. It worked fine till I got this problem 10 days ago. All the settings I used in the past with success are unchanged I tried to reset the Vuescan to default settings, and that didn't help. When I "scan" from raw file, not from the scanner, the problem disappears. it makes me think it's a hardware problem. Unfortunately, I have only 35mm slide film holder, so I can't test it with a larger format. I know that Minolta is out of business. Is there another way to get the Multipro serviced?
