I found several MIR-1 lenses on ebay that appear to be in a nice condition.
But one of the desriptions was a bit irritating. It said "MIR-1 lens for ZENIT M39"

Is the "zenit m39" mount the same m39 mount as used on my FED3b? Or will I have problems using this lens?

Thank you!

would scale focusing be a great problem with a 37mm?

i've rarely used this technique with my 50mm lens, but i remember that it worked pretty well.

zenit m39 will not be RF coupled
It's worse than that. A Zenit M39 lens will have a much greater mount-to-film distance (to accomodate the SLR mirror box), so it won't focus on a rangefinder camera at all.

Scale focussing will not work with lenses made for the Zenit M39 mount when mounted on a LTM rf camera, the lenses are designed to be mounted further away from the film plane. This is a great shame, I bought a zenit 3m and lenses hoping for this. The Zenit camera will mount RF lenses which can be used as macro lenses quite well, but this is no help in this case.

Actually, if you can get hold of a 16.7mm M39 extension tube or have one machined for you, it will work just fine.
