goodmorning
Newbie
I have been using both the original Epson battery and two "cell from Japan, assembled in China" 3.7 v/ 1500mAh batteries for nearly a year now. I have had good experiences with both- can't say that the non OEM batteries last any less time than the Epson. All seem to last less time in camera since the firmware upgrade. Oh well.
My question is this: I am looking to pick up another couple of batteries for an upcoming trip- I have found more "cell from Japan" batteries but they are rated 3.6/1500. I tested the batteries that I have with a true RMS multimeter and found that the Epson (nearly full- maybe ten shots on complete charge) read 4.14v and the aftermarkets 4.16v. Given the likelyhood that the 3.7v batteries are made with 1.2v buttons and that ratings are merely "close", in my electrical experience, has anyone tried 3.6v batteries and what is the result?
I obviously don't want to screw up the camera- it is an income source and I really do like it more than any other of myriad cameras I have and just don't shoot with unless their peculiarities are directly called for by a project. But the battery cost from Epson and their spotty stocking is a pain...
Any help will be greatly appreciated- the forum is a great resource, thanks!
