Just purchased a Moskva 4 with the intention of trying MF for a change (that and I love the look of the old folders :D ) and just wondered if anyone had any thoughts about the Moskva 4 or any hints or tips to get the best from this venerable old piece of Russian equipment .

Thanks for the link Steve , very useful , Hopefully the camera won't need to much doing to it but at least i have a starting point now if it does .

The Moskwa 2 & 4 have reputedly the best lens of the bunch: their 110/4.5 Industar 23 is a Zeiss design -- early production was assembled from original German Super-Ikonta 530/15 parts.
The 105/3.5 Industar 24 lens found on the Moskwa 5 is also a 4 elements Tessar type lens, but it's a newer faster design, which some people consider inferior.

All Moskva share the front focusing lens of the Super-Ikonta, and this design limits the maximum sharpness. Anyway, the huge negative estate will still allow you to make nice 11x14 enlargings.

Cheers,

Abbazz
