MP making rattling noise when shaken

Definitely not normal, my first guess is that maybe one of the rangefinder windows became loose. Also how does the rattling sound? Does it sound like it could be a little medal screw? I imagine if it was a broken medal piece of some sort within it, you'd be able to hear it move around all the time. My guess is that one of the RF windows or glass pieces came loose. How is the rangefinder patch or focusing? Anything look weird?

Does the camera work as expected? All Leicas rattle when shaken. Some more than the others. Don't shake it for no reason, you might kick out your Rangefinder alignment or something else. Just put the roll of film and do a test. Don't panic for no reason 😉

.. All Leicas rattle when shaken. ..

I happen to have my M240 next to me. Does not make a sound when shaken. But it did make a horrible crunching noise when it fell off the table onto my concrete floor.

How am I going to fix the floor?

I bought a car once, and soon after driving it off the lot a loud rattling came from under the hood. I complained to the dealer, but he said "they all do that".
It could be the same with Leicas?

My dad was an orthopedic surgeon, often I told him, "dad it hurts when I do this", his reply invariably was "don't do that."

You keep shaking it like that and something will come loose. Years ago I told Sherry Kraunter that I rode all over the country (coast to coast) on my motorcycle with my M4 in the tank bag. She was horrified. I told her no problem the bike was made in Germany -🙂.

I've owned a lot of Leica rangefinders. None rattled. It would be worth the money to have it checked out my a repair-person (almost said repairman, me bad).

From the video : the rattling complaint regards a camera body with no lens attached.
The rattling noise is then made by the rangefinder pulley unit and is normal.
Attach a lens and it won't do it any longer.
More : use it to take pictures, not to play the conga.
