Some pleasing tones there: specially the third of each set.

Good work. I like the second one in the first set. It is always a pleasant surprise to see what such a "humble" camera can do.

Wow - I have some portra NC just out of my Canonet and it doesn't look this good (mind you, the lab seem to have wiped the floor with the negs). Can you say what post-processing you did? Fair amount of sharpening, or were they this sharp out of the scanner?

Thanks everyone.
Jamie, these were scanned from negs on an Epson 3170 so I always have to do a bit of post processing, which includes curves, selective color and color balance adjustments plus a tad of sharpening. One of these days I'll get a better scanner.
I printed the second one from the first set and gave it to the gal in the picture. Her and her daughter loved it.

Hi Ray,
An absolute out of thread context commentary.
I have always had the feeling that the best color mat for color images is black. But I never had the opportunity to do it in practice. Your black wide frames suit very much and comfirm for me that feeling.
Cheers,
Ruben

No, it's from Cruisin' Ramsey night in Banning, Ca, my hometown. Our Chamber of Commerce (where I also work part-time) sponsors the event every Friday night during the spring and summer, and once a month during fall and winter.

Thanks. It's not hard to do in photoshop, so give it a try! Works nicely with b/w images too, like the one below (shot with my Canon XTi)

Hi Ray,
Just happened onto this Thread; I'm a new QL-17 user.
All the images are of good quality, and the shot of the helmet on the bike handlebars with the black frame is a winner.
Cheers,
