everytime i change my SD card, my counter resets to L100001! i have so many pictures with the same file name that i'm having to save every card in a separate folder in my computer.
help! what am i doing wrong??

mine keeps couning from the last number, even when changing sd cards. the menu item is set to continuous.

I used three cards on a trip, with only one card the M8 started counting anew. I still have to figure out why.

Just guessing here, because it sounds like you're doing everything right but have you tried resetting your camera yet? And i take it you are not formatting your cards on your computer. Does it happen with all your cards?

actually it never happened before the newest firmware update. i do format my cards on my camera time to time. haven't reset my camera in awhile. i'll try it.

HA! i found out what i'm doing wrong! somehow when i saved one of my profiles, i had file numbering set to 'standard' in that profile. per the M8 manual, 'continuous' is exactly that, continuous numbering, but 'standard' resets your numbering everytime you change your SD card.
i'm such a doof.
