This is my first post here after for sometime reading the forum without posting and I believe that I should contribute to the forum even this is my first post.
A little bit of myself. I am from Malaysia, South East Asia and started photography not long ago, Aug 2004 to be exact. My first camera is a Nikon D70 and I love that camera.
Not long ago, Rangefinder bug bit me and from there on I started lurking around in eBay to do my everyday Rangefinder shopping. Currently I have a Yashica Electro MG-1, 2 Yashica Electro GSN, a Yashica Lynx 5000, a Olympus 35 EC and a wreaked Canonet QL19 GIII.
I find myself the love to refurbish old/dead rangefinder to give it a 2nd chance to prove itself that they are as good as modern gizmo gadget hi tech cameras.
Here is what I am going to share with you all. My homemade PX 32 battery adapter for the Yashica Electros using whiteboard marker pens. This idea has been discussed before in this forum but here are my detail step by step of making one.
1. Saw off 3.8cm from the butt of the marker pen.
2. Clean the inner side of the pen.
3. Look for a spring approx 1 inch and wrap it with tape so that when it is placed inside it should rest at the center. (Not necessary a spring, it could be screw, metal, nuts
4. Then wrap the outer side of the pen so that it is not conductive at the side but at the bottom.
5. There are some slacks when a 4LR44 battery is placed inside, tape some foam type double sided tape to cut the slacks.
6. The saw off rim may touch the metal ring of the cover. Tape it too.
I am not good at explaning ... I have included some picture to give you a clearer picture.
