Dear RFF members

I've got an exc+ Iskra that I would really like to get CLAed. The focus is very stiff and the shutter might need some lubrication too. I have shot the first test film, but it waits to be processed.

I noticed that both Oleg and Certo6 have quit working on Iskras and Iskra is not on the repair list at Fedka.com

I would highly appreciate any hints regarding competent repair men, still working on Iskra. I really want to get it CLAed professionally, rather than try to fix it myself.

This is my first post on this forum, but I've been lurking for several months. Thanks to you all for what I have learned from your discussions. Please also forgive my bad English - it's actually my third language.

Best regards

Hi Petur, not bad going for a third language!

off the top of my head i cant think of anyone known to work on the Iskra's (i am sure there is though, some others might be able to recommend someone), often people choose the Iskra instead of the more expensive Super Isolette to save money so they often work on these themselves..but it might be worth asking (send an email) if Will van Manen can work on it, he's probably about 2000Klm from you in Iceland.

let us know if he does. I wouldnt mind seeing some pictures from Iceland either :)

for what its worth, the shutter doesn't usually need lubricating but rather cleaning

cheers

Thanks Andrew - I guess I have been hit by the FSU virus.

The good news is that Eddy Smolov has accepted my Iskra for CLA. Thanks rbiemer for your invaluable assistance.

And thanks to RFF - what a great resource!

Best regards

Fedka.com in NY City I believe will CLA the Iskra. Also, try Eddy Smolov also in NY City I believe his business is 123 Camera. No web site for Eddy.
