My recently acquired Fuji Klasse W scratches film. Some more (Acros, Tri-X), some less (Neopan 400), some hardly at all (Portra 400). Scratches seem to be caused somehow by the small reels that pressure the film against the take-up spool. I don't want to go through the hassle of sending it back to Japan; as the lens is outstanding, I don't want to give up on the camera either. Any comments / suggestions how to fix it?

I sold my Klasse, so I can't look at the exact layout of the reels and pressure plate. Only thing I can think of is to give everything a bit of a wipe and a dust off. Check your films to make sure there is no grit where the film exits the canister. Look at the position of the scratches, if they're always in the same place, its probably the camera, if they move, then it's probably each film.

I had this problem with my Klasse W and had to send it back to Fuji in Japan (through the seller) for repair. I did some research at the time and remember reading about other people with the same problem. This was on english forums only so didn't cover the majority of the Klasse W owners. It made me wonder at the time if it was a manufacturing issue.

EDIT: I didn't even try to fix it myself so I can't help you there. I just re-read through my communications with the seller, though, and he did say the repair required the replacement of an internal part.
