And what a delight the camera is. The build quality is reassuringly solid and heavy.

Bought it from Red Dot Leica in London for £1556 delivered all the way up here in Cumbria. There must be something to these Leica's as I spent the delivery day in the woods with my chainsaw so I could keep an eye on the approach road (as you do). Never was as `sad` as that when the CL arrived.

There's no sign of dead pixels (took a picture at the highest ISO. Clean as a whistle). Yes, the purple clothing is there but I mainly shoot B&W.

There's just been one lock-up. That was my own fault. Took a picture with the lens cap on. 32s exposure and 10 seconds of noise reduction. Stopped responding. Took out the battery. All's well.

Only downsides so far? My mate's stopped talking to me. His problem, not mine. Plus the usual dilemma with the missus. Who do I love more . . ?

Checked the total number of exposures by the Unique Image Number (converted it to decimal). 1376.

Leica say it was made in October 2006, so assume all the `bugs` have been well and truly `fumigated`since then?!

Had a moment of panick for 5 minutes. The sensor was dusty so I cleaned it with an Arctic Butterfly. WORD OF WARNING. Make sure you don't touch anything but the sensor glass. Spread grease over the sensor but looked like scratches. Feaverishly cleaned it with alchohol (not a single malt) and cotton buds. Then repeated with the Butterfly. Phewww!!!

Thanks for all the previous tips and encouragment guys (and gals) and happy snapping.
