So, then it was my turn.
In April I would have had my M8 for one year without any problems whatever. But then: My M8 started showing this red line in the middle of the picture. From bottom up to about the middle of the picture. Anyone here who knows the cause to this? Is there a permanent fix?
Along with the M8 goes my N-N-No-Noc-Noc-Noct-Noctilux......
For the 2. time. For focus adjustment.

So does this mean that they will honor hardware repairs after a year of purchase, or is this out-of-pocket for you?Olsen said:So, then it was my turn.

I expect the repair of the M8 to be within waranty. - So did the Norwegian importer. The M8 comes with a 12 months waranty. The Norwegian dealer/importer (Interfoto/Farnes) said that even the Noctilux adjustment should be within waranty too since it was sent for adjustment last summer.

They only give 12-mo warranties in Norway, or did you buy a demo? Here in the USA there's 2 yrs warranty on new ones, one year on official factory demos.

I bought mine in Singapore. Sorry, i see of the 'Garantiekarte' that the warranty is indeed two years.Ben Z said:They only give 12-mo warranties in Norway, or did you buy a demo? Here in the USA there's 2 yrs warranty on new ones, one year on official factory demos.

I was under the impression that for digital equipment, Leica gave only a 1 year warranty as opposed to the usual 2-year warranty, and 1-year for any repair/service work.

Is the Passport Warranty a default warranty on all items?
The only new Leica thing I've ever owned is the M8. My first new rangefinder lens was a CV lens, and my second ever new lens was the 35mm Biogon.
So I'm lacking in info about the warranty matters.

Norwegian consumers are protected by a law granting them 3 years 'right to reclamation'.

Three years, with an option to buy an additional 2 years.
