OK, I finally did it, I bought a new M8 and a 28 Elmarit with the rebates that Leica had on recently. This expands my rangefinder collection which includes M6(non-ttl), Summicron 50, a 90 Tele-Elmarit, a CV 35/1.4, and CV R2 body. I owned no rangefinder equipment a year ago, but that's another story
!
I really have enjoyed the camera so far and recently took a day off to visit the local natural history museum with the kids and the new M8. The lighting was challenging with significant back lighting alternating with very dimmly lit galleries. I used ISO 160 - 1250. The M8's meter is accurate, but I will say it is much too of a hassle to dial in exposure compensation for backlit scenes, so I did much of this on manual exposure. Here are a couple of the images:
The rest are on my site here .
Cheers!
