I got my test rolls back today for both cameras, and it seems Sp #1 is still off at infinity, even after the adjustment, close focus is better now, but infinity is still off i think.

and on SP #2 its like.. just on the edge of being in focus at infinity. which is odd because the RF patch aligns perfectly. ill see if i can scan a couple of the frames and show you guys.

Just caught this thread, and I'm really bummed for you. Just for the record, did you use a tripod and/or otherwise control the test? And you probably mentioned this in another thread, but have you done any adjustments yourself or sent either of them out for service? I don't think you've had them long enough to send out.

If you can't get things sorted, can I buy the slim UV filter? Just kidding!

lol earl, tryin to get the jump on my toys!

no i hadnt sent them out yet, gman gave me some tips on how to adjust the RF patch, i tried, but i dont think i did it right, when the weather turns to spring time, im gonna send them both to gman for a good CLA, and maybe a black repaint on one of em ;) until then, ill keep tinkering with it and try to become an expert camera repairman overnight! haha.

In the meantime, I'd like to test the slim UV filter under every shooting condition I can imagine.

*sigh* it looks like they both will need the expert touch of gman... i just cant seem to get it aligned.. on either! .. i feel like a failure :(

another problem regarding new-used 35 sp: i was so stupid to clean the battery-compartment very precisely, taking away the bolt for the contact. even before testing if lightmeter is working... now i cannot fix that contact anymore since the nut must be mounted from inside. i big story for a specialist.
if i have read precise metering is not that easy. maybe its better to use a handmeter. any suggestions.

europanorama: Actually, precise metering is very easy with the meter in the SP. If I were you I would have your SP repaired. I have never opened one up, leaving that to a qualified repairman.
