My snake pics have become educational.

I sent my 'python consuming possum' pics to the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast snake catchers/relocaters who also happen to have a facebook page. To my delight they uploaded them with a post detailing the importance of snakes in our ecology and why we should not be terrified of them. This is a very satisfying result for me personally because I know far too many people who will readily kill a snake when they encounter one even though it is no threat to them at all.

I could have sworn I took these pics with my Nikon but no I just checked ... it was the 240 and 50mm C Sonnar.

This is what happens when you have too many cameras. 😀

Good on you Keith. We have the odd serpent slithering around our property and have never felt the slightest inclination to cause them any harm. We rather like them and think they're quite beautiful creatures. Particularly the sight of a copperhead basking in full sun—they are spectacular. We have it relatively easy down here in Tassie. Whilst our native species are all venomous, they're not especially deadly in terms of fang length even if venom toxicity is respectable. I'm from SA originally and if we had Eastern Browns wandering around I'd be less relaxed about meeting one of those...
Cheers

R.I.P. poor possum.
Here in Italy we do not have such snakes, so it is quite a terrifying view to me.
By the way, congratulation for the excellent pictures!

Congrats, Keith! I hope that's not the deck of your house! 😱

I could put some pythons to good use here in downtown Washington D.C. to get rid of the rats (not talking politics here). 😡
