hello everyone,
I own a yashica t4 and t5 and a contax t3 as well....
I must admit, my t5 is super sharp, the t4 not so good and the contax is barely ok.
I just wonder if my t4 and contax t3 have autofocus problem?
My t4 should be as sharp as my t5 (same lens) and my t3 should be as good or even maybe better?
Could it be that those old little cameras have focus problems with time?

I have never used a Yashica T4 or T5, but I did use a Contax T3 for a while, and the lens on it was "up there" among the sharpest lenses I've used on a 35mm film camera (I also use Leica ASPH lenses, Hasselblad Xpan, among others, so I have a frame of reference).
It could be that your Contax T3 has a focus problem. Might be worth doing some tests using a stable camera support such as a tripod to rule out camera shake. The T3 can also manually focus, so you can test that versus the autofocus.

I've had two yashica T-4's that i ended up selling them. The one was sharp, the other not - not sure why. I've read that if the battery is near exhaustion, the AF-lock tends to be inaccurate.

My Contax T3 is razor sharp. This photo was handheld, through a window...and you can count the stays on the antennas...

I bought a T4 new in the 80's, and used it everywhere. It was tack sharp. I upgraded to a T5 (T4-Super) recently, and found the IQ to be identical to the T4 (also tack sharp). There might be something wrong with your T4.
