For a long time I have held onto my Contax lenses hoping to one day adapt them to a Canon DSLR.

I had a Rebel XTI for the longest time, but could never really focus those Contax lenses on the camera. I tried almost everything from AF adapters, to splitscreens and using a magnifier, but I could not get consistent results. I was about to give up and sell those lenses until I broke down and tried them on a Rebel T2i.

Wow, finally I can focus - not only through the live view, but also with the AF-adapters throught the view finder! They work so well I asked my wife try them (who pretty much uses only one lens all of the time: the Canon 50/1.8). She hates manually focusing - even on the Contax camera I have.

She agreed, but did not set her hopes up too high on liking them

After her photoshoot with the kids she said to my surprise: "Keep the Contax 50 out where I can grab it. I like it better than the Canon."

"Wow," I said, "I didn't expect that." "Neither did I, but I actually liked using the Contax better through live view than autofocusing the Canon. I also like the pictures better too."

Cool :)

Contax lenses on the T2i are fun!
