Hiya,
I bought a Lee RF75 system last week primarily for my Leica M2.
I also thought I could use this on my OM2 (OM2n actually).
Now, without using an external meter I was wondering would it mess things up too much what with the OM2's OTF metering whereby longer than 1/45th sec exposures are timed by actual light hitting the film, giving a very accurate exposure.
However, if a part of the frame has an ND grad on (2 stops is what I have, an ND0.6) -- how will this affect the exposures in AE mode? Would the ND0.6 throw the meter and end up with under/over-exposure?
Presumably if there is a dead 2 stop difference between sky/foreground it'll be fine but if there's a 1 or 3 stop, will it spanner things up?
I've got the 49mm adapter all the same.
Vicky

If exposure is off, you can raise or lower the ASA setting.

As Andrew implies, the OM-2 meter is very good, especially with OTF exposures. So give it a try, maybe bracket a bit until you are confident. BTW, using the exposure compensation control is easier than changing ASA.

Hi all,
Thanks for the feedback. I just got thinking when I ordered the 49mm Lee adapter that the OTF metering might throw a spanner in the works; but it'd seem all will be OK with perhaps some dilligent bracketing with the ev control. I'll be using slide likely Velvia 50 so exposure will have to be accurate to a point whereas colour print/black and white wouldn't be so much of a problem.
I'll likely bracket a stop either side, make a note of what's what and judge the results.
One of the reasons I got the OM2 vs the OM1 was the OTF metering capability. That and it's about the only SLR I have ever handled and taken an immediate liking to!
Thanks,
Vicky
