I had an M8 and used a 21mm Zeiss on it and really liked that lens. Did not like the M8. Short story, sold it. Kept the 21 and am using it with my M7. I am growing weary of guessing the frame placement and I suspect a viewfinder would help just a whole bunch. I would like to find a 21mm finder for not too much and I know about Gandy's 130 buck finders. Is there anything less expensive out there or do I just pony up and buy one of those? Suggestions are welcome. John

You might find a used Kobalux (I think that's the name) for less but the thing is huge and not that great. When I got my current 21/3.4 Super Angulon I tried one for awhile. Now I use one of Steve's 130 buck finders. I'd been using one of his 15mm finders for three or so years and was happy with it so I decided to get his 21. If you think that's expensive check the prices of Leica finders.

There is the 20mm Russar finder that comes up rarely used, and typically costs around US 100 or so.

Roland.

you can be on the look out for a minolta or yashica 21mm vf, made for their slrs, but these are not common and expensive when sold.
even the FSU 20mm finder is not cheap.
best bet is still the CV finder, even new.

Guess I will just pay the money to Mr Gandy. I am not a cheap sob but someone watches what I spend with an eagle eye so I am careful, sort of. I did mitigate some of the pain by selling a couple of cases here recently. Then there is that little issue of wanting that LTM 50 1.5 to stick on my IIIg. Hard to resisit. It is only money and it is a transtory thing. John

A Jupiter-3 will probably be the least expensive LTM 50/1.5, but useful only if it focusses correctly. Mine was off, but after Kim Coxon fixed it it's dead on. Must say that your attitude towards expense is healthy.
