Is there an adapter to stick LTM or M lenses on an Eos or on M42?
I have an M42 to Eos adapter, and a bunch of LTM lenses (and a single M) which I'd love to stick on my new Eos 300D.
Just wondering....

There'S no way that could work - because of the mirror box of an SLR, RF lenses can't be used...

Wasn't Stephen Gandy offering an M-mount-to-EOS adapter? He noted that M lenses could not be focused to infinity, but made outstanding closeup lenses.
I just tried his lens adapter page link and couldn't load the page, but I'm pretty sure I read this awhile back.

Bob Shell also makes and produces a Contax/Zeiss to EOS adapter. His is very high quality and is produced to Canon's and Zeiss's specs and tight tolerances. Zeiss has tested it and said it's "perfect". If you need a Contax/Zeiss to EOS adapter (because Contax/Kyocera is too stupid to make a Contax MF digital camera) make sure you get a good one.
I have a couple of the Bob shell adapters. The ones I have are loose and the lens rotates because of an oversized lpin hole. I'm sure he will correct it eventually.

Have you told Bob about your problems with the adapters you have? I know that he has sold hundreds of them, and personally know of many satisfied customers. Others (as well as Zeiss) claim that they fit perfectly and precisely. It's possible, however rare, that you got a bad one or two. Contact Bob and I'm sure he'll set it right. It's a fine product, execptionaly well made to Canon and Zeiss specs and tolerances, and he personally stands behind it.

Make that some RF lenses. It would appear that the Prominent had enough shutter-to-film-plane distance to *just* allow focusing on my 10D. I bet it would be even easier on a 20D.
I'm still working out the details, but I might have a Nokton on my 10D yet!

3 types of adapters-one good at inf but still bad
3 types of adapters-one good at inf but still bad
i have three types of adapter(to be precise two types but three brands
1. dslrexchange from jorge
not sharp at infinity at all. tested on eos 1000, worse than the following.
its has screws so nothing to criticize about stability.4
2. peleng8.com
best of the two which i am now describing. both hasve levers.
the one here is thicker than no3. which will follow. lens sits good but lever must be bent inwards from time to time and also the when used the first time... no sharpness at infinity. 40m is sharp maybe not 100% who knows cannot test.
why i have found it out: scale does not show the right distance. at 1.8m lens is showing 2m..... not yet checked with dslrexchange. i only know live-view does show an image worse than the peleng8-adapter which has Dandelion.
behaveour for chip under low light is a different theme. will open it when i have got optixpcb.com and tested.
3. unknow brand, lever is very thin. its dangerous to use it. if counterpart on lens is worn out its very dangerous. is enganging on zeiss-lenses. but could slip out!
The worst adapter regarding stability IS WORKING AT INFINITY and scale i correct.
eclipse was shot with no.2 so the sun is sharp but not perfect like it could have been. 600mm lens would be the right lens for that on aps-c if i had tested before i had used my chipped m42-eos with novoflex-m42-adapter.
i probably know why jorge produced that adapter with larger distance to the chip. it was to clear mirror on eos 5D mark II. see old thread here. but fully open zeiss lens will never be as sharp as it could be.
i had a sigma aspherical 28/1.8(c/y) to test. and it has very low CA fully open and in the corner and is unbelievably sharp. could be even sharper when the right adapter is used.
maybe i will retest with no3. before new adapter is coming.
peleng8 already told me to send it back. will keep it for macrowork on contax/yashica-tilt-shift bellows. btw: novoflex offered to exchange c/y-camera-mount with universal novoflex-one.
