Hi all,
I have just purchased Photoshop CS2 and I am trying to get the Epson Plug-in to work. I go through the process of installing, which seems to work OK. But I cannot see the plug-in in the file/import or in the open/open as options. Called Epson and the "second level technician" (the sort dealilng with the RD-1) was really unhelpful and just told me there is some plug-in on adobe website that will help. I updated all my plug-ins and did all the updates and nothing seems to work. I really want to be able to work with it. I like the Epson Raw plug-in much more than the Adobe Camera raw... can anybody help?
Thanks very much.

Serve you right. Sell it and buy a r eal camera.
(Sorry -- couldn't resist it - try getting the wrong version of a negative to install on an enlarger)

Cheers,

Roger

it doesn't come up automatically. when you go to the open file dialogue box and highlight the file you want to open you will see a drop down box on the left that says "format: camera raw". drop down the list and pick the epson raw format... david

Thanks, David, I know, that is not the problem. It doesn't appear as one of the options. Do you use CS2? I had no problem with the original CS.

First, did the plug-in actually install? If it did, the path to it will be:

(Photoshop folder)>Plug-Ins>Adobe Photoshop Only>File Formats>EPSON>EPSON RAW Plug-In

Also in the EPSON folder should be a "Manual" folder and a "Setting" folder.

If these folders didn't get created in this location, then your installation didn't go correctly. I've seen this happen when both Photoshop CS and CS2 are on the hard disk when you try to install.

If you still have CS installed and the plug-in still works on it, then find the EPSON folder (same path as above, only in your CS application folder) and copy it to the location above in your CS2 folder.

If you no longer have CS installed, you may have deleted the Epson plug-in folder when you got rid of the application. Try installing again from your Epson CD.

do you see the EPSON RAW plug-in under the Photoshop->About Plug-in menu?

if not, i would guess that the epson installer put the files somewhere photoshop isn't scanning for plug-ins.

try finding the files on your disk using the Finder. search for "EPSON". then manually move the folder to /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS2/Plug-Ins/. finally restart photoshop.

not sure what version of the plug-in is on the CD, but you can grab v1.02 from here.
