So the Fed 2 i bought on the bay was a little messed up. The boby turned out fine after a CLA from Yuri Butn the lens I think had been dropped or something as it has a dent on the barrel. It was real hard to turn the lens to focus. Yuri said for the price of a Lens CLA he would just sell me another lens which had already had a CLA. So i went with that and he returned the dented lens back to me. Well after some hard twisting on my part i have got it to be reasonably Ok to turn to focus. I used it for some test shots and If they turn out of i want to try a CLA on it myself. If I screw it up no big deal. but i think it could use some good lube in it to make it turn better. Also you can't attach a filter or hood because the dent is right on the thread area. i would like to try to undent it so it could take a filter. again i really don't need this lens as i have 2 other 50mm one already. But it seems like it could be a good project. anything to keep me from another GAS attack.
Is there a do it your self site for a CLA on this or a simular type lens?

Industar-26m f2.8/52mm
Thanks

Use the link to the Industar 61 L/D, it's pretty much identical in construction and quite an easy lens to disassemble and CLA.

If the dent is on the filter ring (likely) then there are tools to push that out, although I'm not sure the cost can be justified. One option would be a section of a filter ring and a curved clamp of some sort. It may be easier just to live with it and not use a filter, it's a "disposable" lens, after all.

If you want to clean the inside of the lens as well, that's also easy.

When you have the optics removed, you need to remove the aperture ring (it unscrews after removing the long screw that moves the diaphragm blades), then remove the front "nameplate" (unscrews after removing small set-screw) and you have access to remove the front group as a unit. The rear group is readily accessible even without any disassembly of the lens...

Hello, I have a I 26m and I've studied the above links. The distance is off, not sure what I should do. Nothing is loose or anything :/
