I just ran my first roll through I fed 2 I got from another member here on RFF, It came with the I-61, but I couldn't resist slapping my colapsable I-50 on it. The I-50 didn't fit so well on my bessa without removing the infinity lock. I really want a nice solid pocketable setup. I'll definitely have to give the I-61 a shot to though.
I hate waiting for the negatives to dry! (Not as much as I hate dropping them wet onto the carpet, but almost) This set should be double interesting because its also my first attempt with the sunny 16 rule. The negatives look pretty good so far, I'm really excited to see how they came out. I'll post a couple once they dry and scanned.
I have the horrible feeling there are more FSU cameras in my future. Everyone seems to say that in this forum, I always thought they were joking.
Whats a good cheap hand held or clip on meter for these guys?
Where is the addicted "Post Icon"?

Congrats on the FED 2. You've got 2 great lenses at your disposal. I'm sure you'll like the results using the Sunny 16 rule. That's all I use. Can't wait to see your pic's.

So did I..........................3 FED-2's, 1 FED 3-a, 1 Zorki-6, J-3, J-8, J-12, I-26m, I-50, and a I-61 L/D.jcline said:I have the horrible feeling there are more FSU cameras in my future. Everyone seems to say that in this forum, I always thought they were joking.

Here are some results from still life saturday here in Mountain View. Somehow strangely approprate after all the rain we've been having lately.

Not bad, definitely very simple.

Tomorrow I'll break out the I-61 and see how I like it. More to come.

my autofocus is broken.
You're putting this camera to much better use than I would, I'd say.
Now I kind of want another one.

What can I say, the Fed 2 is all function. Simplistic and feels really natural to use. Mostlikely it will make a home in my bag or on my desk at work and get used often. Probably go along to places like the beach or camping where I might be more hesitant to take other cameras. Besides, should I run into a bear I could knock it out with the thing.

Hate waiting for the negatives to dry? Here's a tip from a colleague of mine; run the film through a bath with alcohol. The surface tension is gone, and the negs are dry instantly.
A word of caution though: don't drink and dry!

BTW a short roll of 12 from the I-61 are hanging up to dry. There appeared to be some light lights, looks like from the cassette or I messed up rolling the roll. Should be 6 or 8 ok ones maybe tomorrow I can find out if there are any keepers.

I just got a Zorkii 4 to go with my other Zorkiis and can hardly wait to try them out. I just finished shooting a roll of Tri x in my F1 and have to take it in to be processed. I"m trying to get a darkroom set up here ASAP, just depends on budget. I like the zorkii VS the Fed because of the open back loading. I used to load Leicas and now cannot get film in the Fed without butchering it. I "ran" two rolls through it and didnt get anything except broken sprocket holes. Well, maybe sometime when I have the patience.
I enjoy this site, I have noone locally with whom to discuss cameras as they are all Digital. They think I'm crazy cause I'm going "backwards" to film. I just don't like the digital stuff.

Well my camera junky friend, you're amidst many now. There seems to be quite the camera junky faction around here. I'm just hoping I'll get a chance to shoot some this weekend instead of just read the forum and fondle cameras. I think it might be time for a train ride to san francisco... I never ride the train and its 3 blocks from my house..
Hmm.. Since the forum seems to be back to normal, I'll post those I-61 shots ASAP.
