New Here - Buying an R3A

Just came across this place a few days ago and it's awesome! So much info and people helping each other, I love it.

I've been developing my own B&W for about a month now and it's so fun. Been shooting with an old OM1 but an going to buy a Bessa R3A and 40 f/1.4 so that will be a lovely upgrade. The Leica's were calling me but I just couldn't justify it now, so instead I'll get the R3A and some MF stuff.

Just wanted to say thanks for everyone, I've learned a lot just reading here the last few days!

You'll have fun. I have R3M+CV40 myslef and like it a lot, though now I would have probably bought R2M for 35 frameline. But be prepared, RF photography is addicted and in the end you'll want to get Leica 🙂

What he said. Welcome E! One of the reasons I got involved with RFF is that there are people here who love their OM's as much as I do mine (Roland and Melanie come to mind immediately). The first time I saw the OM-1 referred to here as an "honorary rangfinder" I knew RFF was populated with true sages.

I love the R3A-40mm/1.4 combo, but still shoot more film through the OM-1 with the 50mm/1.2. I will bet you love the Bessa but keep your OM-1.

Thanks guys! Turns out I bought the R2A because of the .7 magnifier so I'll be used to it by the time I get my M6 😛 – Picked them up today from Stephen in person!
