There have long been such machines, tho I doubt any have been made in ages. A girlfriend of mine used one of these in the mid eighties before Powerpoint existed to make slides for presentations.

I had an Agfa film recorder back in the early 1990's of course it was mainly for slide generation-not exactly cheap to buy either...

It's interesting though that he shoots digital then when he needs a print he has it written to actual film and then printed on fibre based silver gelatin paper.
Not a ringing endorsement for digital only workflow. Obviously he (Sebastiao Salgado) feels he needs to use film and conventional paper to maintain the character he sees in his earlier work.
Quote:
Today, all of Sebastiao Salgado’s digital images are processed using DxO FilmPack before being transferred to film using a Kodak imager and (sic) baryta paper.
Not sure about the clock's and midnight bit, still broken clocks are right at least twice a day

My point is; there are millions of applications and / or programs that simulate 'film look'. It means there is an important demand for such 'look' and some serious R&D effort is done because of this demand. So, why not demand the real thing and effort accordingly?
If someone designed and produced a brand new instant camera, instead of an adaptor for iPhone, I would be happier. This is my point.

So they can't charge their exorbitant prices for this product then, since there are no R&D costs to recoup? That's good. Still won't touch a single product of theirs.
