Just came across a leaked photo of what is supposedly a new Olympus PEN-F camera.
I really like the looks and the addition of a built-in viewfinder is most welcome. Still not convinced about the m4/3 format really, but as a film Olympus fan, this one may tip me over the edge (as a purchase somewhere down the road, not new).
It supposedly carries a 20mp sensor. The price is up there too: 1500-1800 Euro.
Full announcement on January 27.

Hmmmm..
Back to basics...lots of dials
Mirrorless rumor was speculating at one time that the pen f was to answer the declining sales of the their LCD/optional evf line (such as epl) from Fuji. Given the number of dials I c on the supposed camera it looks to be a cross between xe and xt family. The only other m43 sensor camera (but only uses 12 mp of 16) currently is the Panasonic lx100.
The 20mp sensor was rumored to be a Sony develops for m43s.
Glad to c Olympus going in this direction combin w/ their ibis tech, this is really a nice direction they have taken.

I must confess to really digging the "slow speed dial" on the front—I think this is the first time that design element has been repurposed on a digital camera?

There's a front dial on the Pentax Q:

I believe the Sony A99 has a front dial too.

Looks badass. I would presume its performance to be as well. Can't wait for the reviews.

Enough people would most likely just want a body. Imagine a 20f1.7 or 25f1.4 on it
Hope they have a body only price eventually.

I've always enjoyed my PEN E-P3. This new PEN-F will be my next digital camera to buy.

Looks good, I hope it has 20 megapixels like the GX8. I do like the small size and
format. and their great to throw into a bag on the go.

At the 1500-1800 euros makes it like Olympus does its best to shoot its leg. It looks really nice, but it is ridiculously overpriced compared to the quality one can get for far less.

I wouldn't judge before we see what the quality is like. But even though I loved my E-P2 before it died (shutter failed after around 170K shots), I'm not on a market for a new micro 4/3 body (since I feel that for my usage Pana LX100 is enough for my compact camera needs).
Would love to see vertical sensor though

It's not a Leica slow speed dial. It's a Pen-F speed dial

I wonder why Olympus haven't made permanent Pen mode without need to select it each time camera is turned on.
I haven't used newer Olys, probably they did it?
