Hi, wondering what a new (unused) Oly Trip 35 in original case and plastic bag might be worth? I know of one for sale that I am considering buying, I assume it's chrome not black (waiting to find out). I searched ebay for an example of a brand new Trip that had sold in the past but could not find one.
The same question might be interesting in general, as to how the value of a vintage camera is increased if it is mint, unused.
Thanks for any input.

It largely depends on whether selenium cell is alive. If it were kept protected from light (in case) there are chances it is working. As this is automatic camera it's important.

Personally it would have to be in exceptional good shape for me to spend more then $10 on it. The Trip isn't particularly rare and still a relatively young camera.

From a collector's (or a camera museum's ) point of view, if it is unused in the original (unopened) box it's probably worth a little more.

If it's unopened and pristine the only value is to a collector who will keep it as such. As mentioned above Trips are pretty common. I can usually pick them up at car boot sales and flea markets. I used to have half a dozen but I'm down to two now. They never get used though as I no longer shoot film.

Hi,

Looking at prices now and then I reckon they are dropping in value compared to a few years ago when they were the cult camera.

Of course there are specialists who will sell you a refurbished and as new one for a price but that includes a lot of work.

Regards, David
