Easily my favorite lens. I am surprised it's not so popular already.

I really like Sonnar, and am hunting for Sonnars at different focal lengths -- and possible for use with DSRLs.

ZM 85 Sonnar is too expensive, and it turns out that Zeiss makes no Sonnar in Nikon mounts. I just began my search and hope to find more. I hope Zeiss will be making more of them soon.

Thanks for posting. You have another fan here.

But you know, the tremendous focus shift "issues" makes it really unusable :D

For Leicas, try one of the lenses in my avatar, or the Hexanon 90/2.8.

Not sure, but I believe the early 105/2.5 in Nikkor mount used the Sonnar formula.

You could also switch to OM cameras, the Zuiko 85/2 is an Ernostar !

Everyone (including Zeiss) made "Sonnars" (or more precisely Ernostars) in 85mm to 200mm at least up to the 1980s. If the telephoto lens has four optical groups, it's usually an Ernostar design. Some examples: http://rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=597947#post597947

If you want a true Sonnar (i.e. with cemented triplets), just get the dirt-cheap Jupiter-9 in M42 mount.
