I placed a 28mm elmarit M on ebay this past week and the auction closed Saturday evening. My high bidder paid via paypal within minutes of the auction close. Today another bidder contacted me stating they had received a second chance offer. I did not make any second chance offers since the bidder paid immediately. My guess is the lower bidder or bidders who receive the second chance will click on the link they have been provided and give payment information or pay through paypal to some bogus person. Obviously they will never receive the item because it has allready been sold.

That scam's been going around for a while.

If you get a Second Chance Offer in e-mail, log in to "My eBay" and check your messages, and see if it's there. If it is in your eBay messages and you can click through to a Second Chance Offer page, which looks like a regular auction with BIN of your top price expiring usually in 24 hours or so (maybe there is an option for a longer time period), then it should be legitimate. If it's not in your eBay messages, then it's a scam. I've gotten a few good deals this way, but you've got to be careful that the offer is real.
