New TV show, 6 degrees: M3 is prop camera

was watching that show with my girl and then the M3 came on the screen, which prompted me to go into a Leica talk with her. I'm sure she was fascinated.

No but he wasn't using a strap of any kind on his M3 like a badass... and he had the typical "my photography is the apex of art and is bigger than thou" type of attitude.

Is the M3 likely to appear in future shows? Is the show going to be worth watching (even without an M3)?

Maybe the fellow will get to switch to an M8 during this first season. How much would that ad tie-in cost Leica?

The guy was in a low stage of his life because he lost of the ability to see compelling things on the streets of NYC to take pictures of. His life was in shambles evident by the packing boxes at his apt (to move to a new town, new career, new life...!?) and the old chinese food containers on his kitchen table. Then one day while walking down the street, he spots a woman crying. He raises his trusty M3 (whew! good thing he had it with him) and captures the proverbial "crying woman on the steps" image. The climax comes in the darkroom where the image of the woman slowly appears on the paper, to which he exhaled a big sigh of relief upon seeing the fully exposed image "ahhh, I still got it."

Just in time too, we're all looking forward to what other Leica antics he'll get into next week.

Just about as I thought. Think I'll check it out next week

of course he was using an autofocus slr something another at another point in the show... But I still had to say oh oh oh LEICA!!!! It was on Thursday at 10pm on ABC on the West Coast anyways...

The show was ok. I noticed the Leica, too, during the promos. It bugs me when they add the SLR noise. If I had a TiVo I'd look more closely, but I didn't think it was an M3, it didn't have the beveled windows.

Anyway, I thought it amusing he was using what looked like a 135mm lens for street photography. And the "darkroom setup"! Even my gf laughed.

BTW, the promos also show him handling an SLR. :😱:

I didn't get to see the show--how did he setup his room?
He shut his windows, put a few trays on the table, his enlarger somewhere. All right there in the open; some "red" lights (I think they had red cellophane-like material wrapped around). It's TV, no need for details, so we gotta cut 'em some slack.
