I just got back from several weeks in Sri Lanka traveling via train and car. I did not make it as far north as I wanted to get due to the security situation (I was briefly detained by the army) but I did witness an amazing pilgrimage in the north central part of the country. I know my style is not everyones cup of tea but I wanted to share my recent work. Shot all of it with a Leica M3 / Canon 50mm 1.4 (from a fellow RFF member!) and a Canon F1N / 28mm 2.0 SSC.

Those are just terrific, no matter what anyone might say about your style.

Carlos, I like the fact that you are up close to your subjects. Cool that you had 2 cameras 2 lenses combo.

Thanks everybody for your remarks. I hope everyone knows how valuable the input of the members on this forum are. I have learned so much from the collective wisdom here and look forward to reading RFF whenever I can.

Gorgeous stuff. Congratulations.
One thought: re-sequencing might be advisable. The opening image is superb; I couldn't help thinking that you needed something (almost) as strong on which to finish.
Tashi delek,

Great series. Would love to go to Sri Lanka - what beautiful people there... I liked your web site too and I see you've been to Ciudad Juárez, as have I. Have you read Roberto Bolaño's 2666? It is mostly set in Ciudad Juárez, is long, complex, frightening, but ultimately incredibly rewarding. Worth a look.

Forget about styles! You have good eyes for people portraits and the guts to be there and do it.
Those photos need to be published. Have you thought about making a photo-book?

Roger - Your comment confirmed what I was thinking about the last image so I changed it and the one there now is stronger I feel and better represents the end of my journey there.
Peter_n - I do not have that book but it is on my list now, thank you! It seems Juarez has only gone down hill since I was there. I really hope that things turn around soon for the sake of the town and the country.
Shadowfox - I have the series out to some magazines and I hope someone picks them up for publication. A book would be pretty cool, I would want to return several more times to make it a fat book!
