I see that on E0Bay there are now a number of the new Zeiss M-mount lenses beco
ming available for sale. Does any one have any experience using any one of these lenses on a Leica M6, M4 etc. I am interested in the 50 f2 and the 35 f2. It would be interesting to see how they compare to the Leica Summicrons. The price on these new lenses seems reasonable in comparison to the Leica lenses, and definitely more affordable for me. I still want a quality set of lenses, but I can't keep buying Leica glass.

I'm interested in the new Zeiss lenses, too. Especially the 28/2.8.

Look on the Illuminated Landscape for a review of the 35/2 lens. Karen Nakamura has also praised this lens, over the V4 Summicron, on this site and p.net I believe, extolling its creamy bokeh. Several people at p/net have also reported on the 50mm Planar. In general, if you're obsessed with resolution and sharpness there's a consensus that these lenses are sharper edge to edge than the best Leica lenses, but the Leica lenses are sharper in the centre.

Erwin Puts just reviewed several of them (including the 35, 50 and 28) They sound pretty good!
