Does anyone have experience with this combination. I am thinking of it as a (semi) compact alternative to the NEX + wide/fast rangefinder glass.

I don't tend to use SLR lenses on my nex much as they make for a much bulkier camera. The closer min focus distances are nice though.

I guess the OM lenses are smaller than most SLR lenses though. How about an rf 28/2 with a +3 close up lens or the Pen F 25/2.8 which is a nice lens for about £200 and focusses down to .25M?

I use both RF lenses and SLR lenses on my NEX3 and NEX7.
Some SLR lenses are not that much bigger even with the adapter.
Pentax-M glass or some "pancake" lenses from Konica or Minolta, or some Zuikos, make a great match for the NEX.

The Oly Pen lens sounds a good idea, but even RF lenses tend to be bulkier when fast and wide, although the adaptors are smaller. I have a Pen 38/1.8 which would not be too much smaller than the 28/2 OM lens.

Interested in hearing about corner issues on any of the wide OM lenses on NEX bodies.

well...maybe if you are talking about at CV 50/1.1 or 35/1.2 or some big ol 85.

But other wise it's a huge difference.

nex+ultron 28/2 can go in a jacket pocket...OM 28/2 you'll need a big pocket.

pen-F 25/2.8 has bad SA on the nex. If you like edges or corners it's not a good choice. (yes, I've got one) 38 is OK and 42/1.2 is excellent.

with correct adapter all Ms and LTMs can close focus. (hawks)
